Holidays Mini Session in TeWinkle Park, Costa Mesa
Around the holidays, schedules and planning tend to be a bit overwhelming. In another word: life gets crazy at the end of the year! Last year, I noticed that I had to turned down families who wanted to book a photo session because I was fully booked from September to December. My answer to that problem: organizing mini sessions! And early enough in the year, so everybody could order their cards on time. 2020 marked the first year for my Mini Sessions. Check out the photos below!
This Mini Session was a Holiday Themed Session for my dear and cherished families. I received some old and some new clients, in a little set, decorated with a wrath, a little pine tree, some twinkle lights, white furry pillows and a red blankets. The red chair was a hit! For the little story, it is actually in my favorite corner in my living room right now, and this is were I crochet or knit my (almost) perfect little beanies at night.
Parks tend to get really busy around the holidays, especially on the week-ends. I knew I had to find the perfect place that could be great for lighting, that would also fit the theme of the Mini Session and that will allow me to take photos in a not-too-crowded place. And guess what? I found the perfect park! One of my family ask me to do a session in TeWinkle Park in 2019 and it became one of my favorite local park in Orange County to capture families’ portraits. It is fairly small but the pine trees and little lake around allow for gorgeous photos during golden hour.
Because 2020 was a special year, I prepared a scheduled that allowed me to clean up and disinfect the set in between clients. Although, wearing a mask while photographing families, I couldn’t have dreamed about better sessions: the families arrived perfectly dressed up for the session, good vibes all around and the kids were so cute I hurted my zygomatic because I was smiling so much!
It was a festive mini session that also turned up into a pajama party with my last family!
